As we conducted interviews for the film, we heard over and over from the people we interviewed that they did not find the harmonica; rather, the harmonica found them. The same holds true for the making of our film. We did not start off making a documentary. The story of the harmonica found us. A common theme we discovered as we met people all over the world is that the harmonica is different from drums, guitar, piano—the harmonica is unique, extraordinary, even holy. This small instrument has made a connection with those who play it. You may not have heard of many, if any, of these artists in the film or on the CD, but we have a feeling they've rocked, rolled, soothed, freaked, amazed, grooved, and generally provided a helluva good time to a large number of people over the years. And that is what is at the heart of the film and CD... good times, music, general stuff for the soul.
